Will Topher Grace Appear In Spider-Man: No Way Home? Venom Actor Gives Perfect Response

Spider-Man: No Way Home has been the most anticipated comic book film for quite some time now. While Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is doing well both critically and financially, it can't hold a candle to how fans are feeling about MCU's last outing of 2021.

This was as clear as ever when the very first trailer for the film blew past the record-breaking numbers of Avengers: Endgame—a feat no one thought possible. The many rumors about the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire certainly made their way around.

What the trailer did reveal is that villains from previous films are in fact returning to the fray. Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus was seen outright, Willem Dafoe's pumpkin bombs made an appearance, and there were several key teases for names like Electro and Sandman.

One of the names that hasn't popped up in the rumor mill is that of Topher Grace, who brought Venom to the big screen before Tom Hardy did. Will he be making an appearance?

During a Reddit AMA, actor Topher Grace, who portrayed Eddie Brock aka Venom in Spider-Man 3, was asked whether he was going to be a part of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

It's hard to know what answer this fan was hoping for, but Grace gave a funny and sarcastic answer, one which revealed that the upcoming film would also have "some actors from the original 70s Spiderman show, Aquaman, and Batman (Affleck, not Keaton):"

"Please keep it between us but yes, I am in it. The plot starts with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) bummed that everyone knows his identity and then some crazy shit happens with Dr. Strange and Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina) comes into his dimension. Then Electro and the Green Goblin hop out of one of those 'energy circles' and they’re like “It’s spider stompin time”. Then Tom Hardy and I pop out and battle each other and I win (obvi), it’s like not even a fight I just kick his ass immediately. Not to give too much away but there are also some actors from the original 70s Spiderman show, Aquaman and Batman (Affleck, not Keaton) crossover, and thanks to Disney Han Solo’s ghost from Rise of Skywalker, and that Eve robot from Wall-E. Again, please keep between us."

Will There Be Grace? Probably not.

Clearly, Topher Grace is just making up things. It's kind of a silly question to ask and then expect a straight-up answer. But what are the chances of him showing up?

Well, realistically, not very likely. There is only one Venom that Sony is focused on right now, who is played by Tom Hardy. There have been plenty of rumors of Hardy's Eddie Brock joining the MCU in some fashion.

In fact, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis outright confirmed that the famous symbiote will cross paths with Tom Holland's Peter Parker at some point in the future. This certainly makes it seem like Sony isn't really looking to bring Topher Grace back—especially since many fans believed his version of Venom to be quite terrible; though that didn't stop them from potentially bringing back Electro.

While it's truly unlikely that Topher Grace will be back, it isn't impossible. After all, with the MCU taking on the multiverse, anything is possible these days.
