LOKI MISCHIEF CONTINUES
Even in the six-week gap of content within the vast Marvel Studios 2021 slate, MCU fans everywhere have felt spoiled with new trailers, teasers, and updates for the upcoming movies and shows.
The Loki hype train left the station again on April 5 when the official trailer for the Disney+ series was released. This offered fans the best look yet at the mystery thriller, helping audiences gain a fuller understanding of what the series will actually entail. This came after its first teaser premiered during Disney's Investor Day back in December of 2020.
A better look at the characters taking this journey was shared with an inside look at Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson's dynamic.
And after being announced on May 14, we now have a brand-new look into the time-focused prequel series for everyone's favorite bad guy. Or good guy. The jury is still out.
LOKI MISCHIEF CONTINUES
During the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Tom Hiddleston presented the first clip from Marvel Studios' Loki series, titled "Introducing Agent Mobius."
The scene shows Tom Hiddleston's Loki and Owen Wilson's Mobius in an elevator, with Loki curiously referencing "space lizards."
"The idea that your little club decides the fate of trillions of people across all of existence at the behest of three space lizards? Yes, it's funny. It's absurd."
MOBIUS AND LOKI
This is the best look yet at the mysterious character Agent Mobius, played by Owen Wilson. Sharing an elevator ride with the God of Mischief, Mobius does not back down from a war of words, mocking Loki for his love of monologues.
This is a glimpse of the two main characters and the chemistry Tom Hiddleston and Wilson are bringing on screen. The motive behind Mobius enlisting the services of this Loki variant is unclear. But in the meantime, fans can expect some witty banter and exploration from these two.
THE TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY
Loki is quick to share his knowledge of the TVA and their goal to "protect the sacred timeline". The antagonist hall of famer Loki seems rather bothered by the TVA's willingness to decide the fate of trillions throughout the universe.
It is also noted that time works differently in the TVA, meaning that Mobius and the rest of the TVA workforce do not play by the same time and age rules Loki is accustomed to.
INTRODUCING THE TIME KEEPERS
Finally, it is revealed that the TVA was created by the Time-Keepers, who are surely the inspiration for the shrines and statues shown throughout the TVA.
Loki makes a jab that these all-powerful beings are "space lizards," indicating that he is somewhat aware of who he is dealing with.
It is unknown if these Time-Keepers will make an appearance in Loki, but their presence is already being felt.
