Lionsgate kicked off its 2025 CinemaCon panel with an extended look at From the World of John Wick: Ballerina.

The preview kicked off with Ana de Armas' leading character meeting Keanu Reeves' John Wick as Wick warns her that she still can leave and still has a choice.

As her character name is revealed to be Eve, she asks Wick, "Why didn't you leave?" Wick responds to her by saying, "I'm working on it."

The CinemaCon audience burst into applause as they watched Eve dive into an epic brawl in the middle of a lodge.

After she dispatches the first goon, she then runs into a kitchen chef, who she tells that she doesn't want to fight her—an approach that fail. The two start fighting, leading them to smashing countless dinner plates against each other looking, while looking for a gun under the debris.

Eventually, Eve gets the upper hand and locks the chef in a freezer.

Armas then came onstage for the fans alongside director Len Wiseman and chair of Lionsgate movie division Adam Fogelson. De Armas went on to say this movie was "on a whole different level [than what I’ve done]…This was by far the most physical and challenging thing I’ve ever done."

Wiseman went on to describe the reaction he wanted to see from fans with his movie, hoping to hear something like, "Holy s**t, I did not expect that."

Moving back to Armas, the star spoke about needing screws in her shoes so she could grip the icy roads in Prague during filming due to it being so cold.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is due to hit theaters on June 6.

The Long Walk Stars & Director Tease Film

Next up in Lionsgate's lineup is The Long Walk, which is based on the same-named novel written by legendary author Stephen King.

Onstage for this movie are director Francis Lawrence along with stars Mark Hamill and David Jonsson.

Jonsson joked with the crowd that he and the team "talked a very long way, no pun intended" about the film. Hamill then randomly brought up Jonsson having worked with facehuggers (Alien franchise) — a bucket-list item for him.

While the main cast tried hard to stay away from Hamill (the film's antagonist) during filming, they all came together for a big hug by the end of production.

A trailer for the movie teased the idea of "this is walk or die," showing a group of people walking until there is only one left. If they stop or go below 3 mph (similar to 1994's Speed), they die.

New Hunger Games Movie Being Developed

Also on the way is a brand-new Hunger Games movie from Lawrence, who directed the last four movies in the franchise.

He is about to get to work developing the new movie, which is based on author Suzanne Collins' most recent book in the series, Sunrise on the Reaping.

On stage with Fogelson, they discussed the "incredible screenplay" that they have and that the draft has been worked on "for about a year." The movie also starts shooting in July.

Lawrence proceeded to call this book "probably [his] favorite book in the series."

Additionally, a new animated logo for Hunger Games was revealed, which should be released publicly soon.

John Wick will continue forward with an animated prequel movie setting up some of the series' origins. This will feature Donnie Yen's Caine from John Wick: Chapter 4, and The Batman - Part 2 writer Mattson Tomlin will write the movie.

Additionally, Lionsgate has confirmed plans to make John Wick 5, saying, "We are beginning development now" on the next true sequel in the series.

Surprisingly, Keanu Reeves is locked in to return to his leading role (per Variety).

Lionsgate is now in development on a movie called Power Ballad, which will feature MCU star Paul Rudd and Jumanji's Nick Jonas.

The film centers on Jonas' character stealing a song written by Paul Rudd to revitalize his career, leading to Rudd making it his mission to get revenge for the theft.

Power Ballad will debut in theaters sometime this year.

Now You See Me Franchise Gets New Addition

Coming out on November 14 is Now You See Me: Now You Don't, the third movie in the long-running magic-centric franchise,

Director Ruben Fleischer took the CinemaCon stage to tell fans how big of a fan of magic he is. He wanted to ensure the movie had globe-trotting, magic tricks, and a huge twist to close the film out.

Additionally, he seemed to casually mention the development of another movie in the series, although it was brief.

A short trailer for Now You See Me 3 teased the team going after the Heart Diamond as part of the biggest trick they've ever attempted. Their target will be played by Saltburn star Rosalind Pike, whose character's family is involved with blood diamonds.

Morgan Freeman's Thaddeus Bradley is heard saying the team can "bring down two generations of criminals with a sleight of hand" as the footage ends.

Housemaid Movie Teased at CinemaCon 2025

Next on the docket was The Housemaid, inspired by the Freida McFadden book and directed by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig. Feig took the stage along with stars Sydney Sweeney, Brandon Sklenar, and Amanda Seyfried.

Sweeney told the audience that she was "a big book lover" and "could not put [the source book] down" once she started reading it. In fact, she read the entire three-book series in one week.

The cast and crew bonded deeply on set over their love of Seyfried and her work in Mamma Mia. There is even a video from the set of Seyfried and Sweeney lip-syncing a song from Mamma Mia 2.

For this movie, Seyfried reflected on never forgetting "how playing Nina Winchester made [her] feel."

Sklenar took the mic next, saying his character is very complex and that he's "playing a lot of versions of himself" while manipulating people around him:

"The guy is a very complex character and he’s playing a lot of versions of himself and constantly manipulating everyone around him…And that’s kind of a tricky head space to get into.

He also described the character as "pretty f***ing unhinged" while teasing much more to him in the movie than in the book.

Small Update on Hurry Up Tomorrow

Lionsgate

Set for release on May 16 is Hurry Up Tomorrow, featuring Grammy-winning musical artist The Weeknd, Barry Keoghan, and Jenna Ortega.

A new trailer for the movie teased fans needing to "unlock the truth" with footage that looked quite intense with some major twists.

Director Trey Edward Shultz took the stage alongside Ortega, who noted that she originally thought she pitched herself for a much smaller role. Instead, she was asked to be the lead.

The panel ended with a performance by The Weeknd to celebrate the release of his new movie.
