Warning: This article contains spoilers for Zack Snyder’s Justice League .
HBO Max is currently hosting the streaming release for Zack Snyder’s Justice League , finally coming to fans after what feels like a lifetime’s worth of teases since 2017. With this debut comes four whole hours jam-packed with material, bringing Snyder’s vision to life and hopefully putting the 2017 theatrical cut firmly in the rear-view mirror.
Viewers are already noticing how the two versions of the film differ outside of the fact that the Snyder Cut adds over two full hours of material to enjoy. These details are as minor as Snyder making a cameo in the movie himself , and as major as the inclusion of Darkseid for the first time in any live-action DC movie.
Additionally, the film holds a small detail that was noticeably absent from its canon predecessor.
LOIS LANE CARRYING BABY KRYPTONIAN
Confirmed in an interview with Vanity Fair , director Zack Snyder confirmed a detail surrounding Amy Adams’ Lois Lane from of Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max.
"Lois is pregnant at the end of the movie."
Partway through the movie, the box of a pregnancy test is seen in Lois’s nightstand, indicating that she may be pregnant. This was not the case in the 2017 version of Justice League , to which Snyder said that Warner Bros. “made (him) not do it” for the final theatrical release:
“That was always my hope, but they made me not do it, originally. But I got it in.”
Additionally, the brand of the pregnancy test reads “Force Majeure,” which roughly translates from French to English into “unforeseeable circumstances.”
A SUPERBABY COMING DOWN LANE “SNYDER CUT”
Lois Lane has certainly seen her fair share of action in the DCEU, finding herself in danger numerous times as Superman saves the woman he loves. However, this is the first indication that the franchise was set to take her in a maternal direction.
As is the case with many other plot points , it’s unclear why Warner Bros. decided against Lois being pregnant in the theatrical cut of this movie. However, it certainly comes as one of the many unresolved teases that Zack Snyder had planned for future sequels to this version of the team-up movie.
Whether those movies end up coming to life is unknown , and it will be interesting to see how the Snyder Cut’s success affects the viability of future sequels. For now, fans are left only imagining what Lois and Clark’s future would hold as parents while the latter is fighting powerful aliens and unforeseen threats.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now available to stream on HBO Max.
