James Gunn's DC reboot contains a historic movie collection. The DCU is set to expand with the arrival of notable projects on the DC Studios slate, such as Lanterns, Clayface, and Man of Tomorrow. That momentum was established by 2025's Superman as the franchise's first big-screen entry, which introduced David Corenswet's Clark Kent. As the DCU's flagship project, Superman established the franchise's interconnectivity by carrying key characters into other projects, most notably Lex Luthor in Peacemaker Season 2 and Superman in 2026's Supergirl.

Fandango officially released a Supergirl and Superman two-film Collection Bundle, a digital movie collection dedicated to the first two DCU movies. This first-ever release provides fans with a convenient way to own the pair of inaugural Super-family entries that kickstarted DCU's Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters.

The Supergirl and Superman collection, available now at $29.99, is a significant milestone for the DCU, signaling that a new continuity has a growing library of its own.

There is also a plethora of opportunities for the DCU's movie slate to maximize this collection strategy in the future. Once Man of Tomorrow premieres in 2027, it is a no-brainer that the Superman sequel could also join a Super-Family-centric collection in the future.

While it is unknown if Clayface would achieve similar success, it's reasonable to assume that a Batman-focused collection could arrive once The Brave and the Bold introduces the DCU's Batman and Robin.

Clayface

Clayface is the next movie on the docket for DC Studios, as it is poised to introduce Tom Rhys Harries' Matt Hagen to the DCU. Set to premiere on October 23, the upcoming DCU body-horror origin film will dissect Hagen's tragic origin story on the big screen before becoming a full-blown villain that fans saw in Creature Commandos Season 1.

Marketing for Clayface made it clear that Matt Hagen's journey will be driven by ambition before a downward spiral begins from one costly mistake involving a local crime boss's wife. In a desperate gamble, Hagen volunteers for an experimental serum that causes him to slowly lose his humanity.

Clayface stands out in the DCU because it showcases a story driven by body horror and villainous themes rather than traditional superhero spectacle. The fact that it is also the first live-action look at the DCU's Gotham criminal underbelly makes it essential viewing and an ideal foundation for a future Batman-centric movie collection.

Superman

While Man of Tomorrow features many Justice League heroes, such as John Stewart's Green Lantern and Hawkgirl, it is still very much a Superman movie centered on David Corenswet's titular hero.

The Superman sequel, set to premiere on July 9, 2027, is expected to push Clark Kent to the limit as he forges an uneasy alliance with Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor to defeat Brainiac. By navigating that relationship, the DCU has the prime opportunity to flesh out Clark. The threat of Brainiac could force him to confront his limits while also allowing him to see Lex in a different light, but with massive repercussions. Seeing Lex as an ally could bring Clark's guard down and make him vulnerable in their inevitable future confrontations.

Batman - Elseworlds & Main DCU

Robert Pattinson's Batman is set to return in The Batman: Part 2. Despite being delayed to February 18, 2028, and set in an Elseworlds continuity separate from the main DCU, Pattinson's Bruce will undergo an evolution in the Matt Reeves sequel as he navigates mounting public tension following Gotham's devastating flood in the first film.

Bruce blames himself for the city's ongoing desperation, and the film seems poised to explore the physical and mental toll on him as he continues protecting Gotham against newfound threats. After 2022's The Batman offered a glimpse at the deep layers of corruption in Gotham, Bruce is bound to unpack those darker realities amid the city's fractured state.

In the DCU, The Brave and the Bold will provide a different take on Batman at a unique point in his life. The DCU's take on Batman will explore a version of Bruce Wayne who is already an established Dark Knight, confronting the unexpected arrival of his son, Damian Wayne, and dealing with the escalating presence of the Bat-Family around him.

DC Studios' Dynamic Duo is an animated theatrical film focused on the first two Robins: Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. At the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, DC Studios revealed story details of the Batman spinoff, focusing on versions of Dick and Jason as teenage street kids (Dick toward becoming Robin while Jason leans on the Red Hood gang for refuge).

Dynamic Duo, which will premiere in theaters on June 30, 2028, functions as a family-oriented Robin (and Red Hood) origin story. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn noted that Dynamic Duo is not part of the mainline DCU continuity, but this story lets fans see a different side of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd nonetheless.
