Ms. Marvel is poised to introduce another charming hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan. In the upcoming Disney+ series, the character will be portrayed as a huge Avengers fan, with a specific passion for Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. The first official synopsis also confirmed that Kamala is a fan-fic writer, with the trailer already showing glimpses of her superhero-centric hobby.
Although Captain Marvel is at the front and center of Kamala's favorites, it seems that the young hero is an Avengers fan in general. In the first trailer for the series, Kamala can be seen doodling a fictional fight between Ant-Man and Man-Ant, wearing a shirt that features Wasp, Valkyrie, and Carol, and attending a convention centered around Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Now, a closer look at the Avenger-con and Kamala's costume in the series has been released through official pieces of merchandise.
Hulk, Thor, Ms. Marvel & More
Hot Topic officially unveiled a new batch of merchandise for Ms. Marvel, featuring a fresh look at Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan and an interesting Avengers reference.
The first listing shows an Avengercon throw blanket featuring amusing tag lines for several members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, such as Hulk and Thor. Some of the lines include "Things Hulk Smashed!," "The Realm of Asgard," and "Captain Marvel: Cosmic Avenger."
Another piece of merchandise features a Ms. Marvel Hero Scribbles T-shirt, showcasing Kamala Khan's incredible art skills:
Ms. Marvel's Passion for The Avengers
Based on the Avenger-con merchandise for Ms. Marvel, it seems that Earth's Mightiest Heroes are being celebrated by the public, which is a notable feat, especially after the conflict that transpired during Captain America: Civil War.
While Spider-Man: Far From Home briefly acknowledged the team's heroics during Avengers: Endgame, it looks like a full-blown celebration is in order in Ms. Marvel.
Given that the real status and official members of the new Avengers team are still unknown, it's safe to assume that Ms. Marvel could provide a tease of the current outlook of the group. The Avenger-con also presents a unique opportunity for brief appearances for the other heroes, whether through merchandise or promotional clips that are present at the convention.
It remains to be seen when Ms. Marvel is set in the MCU timeline. However, Hulk's inclusion could hint that She-Hulk has yet to appear at this point in time or the series could reference what Bruce Banner is doing to clear the confusion.
Meanwhile, Thor being promoted as part of the Avengers raises the question of whether or not he regularly returns to Earth to check in with Valkryie in New Asgard. This could also be the organizers' way of paying tribute to one of the remaining original Avengers.
Ms. Marvel is set to be available to stream on Disney+ on June 8, 2022.
