After only its first episode, Marvel Studios appears to have another winner on their hands with their second Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . Not only does the new series come as a success among critics that watched "Episode 1" before its arrival, but it also set the record for the most-watched season premiere in Disney+ history .
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan were featured heavily in the initial 50-minute episode, as was to be expected with this being the first headlining performance for both of the longtime MCU regulars. Sam went back to his roots as he tried to help his sister Sarah through her financial problems, which Bucky was shown going through a therapy session and connecting with a local friend.
That friend set Bucky up on one of his first dates in years; the actress who played that date recently shared her joy from the experience she had in the MCU series.
MIKI ISHIKAWA SHOWS HER GRATITUDE
In two separate Twitter posts, actress Miki Ishikawa celebrated the debut of "Episode 1" of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+, in which she starred as Bucky's date, Leah.
The first post featured a picture of Ishikawa with leading actor Sebastian Stan, along with the caption "happy Monday!" :
🤗 happy Monday! pic.twitter.com/Oszg9CASij
Ishikawa's second post includes a message showing her gratitude for the show's early success, as can be seen below:
Feeling all the love- thank you all so much 💕 Feels weird to be celebrating anything rn, but I’m filled with immense gratitude. Be kind and stay safe.
Ishikawa and Stan's co-star, Desmond Chiam (who is portraying the mysterious Dovich in the Marvel series) shared his praise for the acting pair:

MIKI'S GOT A DATE WITH A 106-YEAR-OLD
Miki Ishikawa's Leah was a key part of Bucky's story in this show's first episode, working at the Japanese restaurant where Barnes has lunch with his friend Yori. When the two meet up for a date after Leah's shift, the tides turn as Bucky realizes that he was responsible for killing Yori's son while he was serving Hydra as the Winter Soldier.
As for the social media posts, this is yet another indication of just how much fun it is to work on a Marvel Studios production like this one. Although there's a fair chance that Ishikawa's only appearance in the show came in "Episode 1," it's evident that she had the experience of a lifetime working with Sebastian Stan as his scene partner for the latter part of the episode.
"Episode 1" of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now available to stream on Disney+. The series will continue with "Episode 2" on Friday, March 26, 2021.
