Warning — This article contains spoilers for the season finale of Loki, “For All Time. Always.”

Loki has certainly been a strange ride from beginning to end. After six weeks of time-traveling shenanigans, viewers have been left on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger as the MCU's multiverse was finally opened, setting the course for a multitude of Phase 4 projects.

The dramatic ending opened the door for many upcoming MCU projects including the second season of Loki, the Doctor Strange follow-up, Spider-Man: No Way HomeAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and What If...?

While it's unclear when the highly-anticipated Season 2 will arrive on Disney+, a recent report appears to have revealed where the God of Mischief will re-surface in the MCU.

Following the climactic finale of Loki's first season, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief is expected to reprise his role in next year's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm Hiddleston's role in the film.

The MCU veteran will join Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, and Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez for the Sam Raimi-directed 2022 blockbuster.

WHICH LOKI WILL JOIN THE SORCERER SUPREME?

After an entire Disney+ series centered around magic and the creation of the multiverse, it isn't too surprising to hear Hiddleston will return for the Doctor Strange sequel. Based on his integral role in shattering the Sacred Timeline to create the MCU's many alternate realities, Loki's leading Asgardian Variant will likely be the one to appear in the film.

The extent of Hiddleston's role in the multiverse blockbuster ought to become clearer as the film nears its March 2022 release. While the Son of Odin's return ought to help fill the gap for fans until season two hits Disney+, the God of Mischief is unlikely to take on little more than a cameo appearance in the film.

Doctor Strange's highly-anticipated sequel already has a packed star-studded cast for the multiverse adventure, so it's hard to predict the extent of Loki's role in the film. Having being left stranded in an alternate timeline TVA in the conclusion of his Disney+ finale, it's hard to imagine how he could run into Cumberbatch's Avenger.

Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch previously shared a brief scene in Thor: Ragnarok as the Sorcerer Supreme helped the Sons of Odin locate their father on Earth. Having left the main timeline five years prior to the meeting, the redeemed heroic Loki will be unfamiliar with the encounter while Strange will surely be nervous to trust him.

Throughout his MCU tenure, the God of Mischief hasn't spent much time alongside other magic-users, so the possibility of him opposite Cumberbatch and Olsen's sorcerers is an exciting one.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on March 25, 2022.
