Black Adam will not only introduce another anti-hero into the DCEU, but it will also showcase a new superhero team in the form of the Justice Society of America. The team, otherwise known as the JSA, has a rich history in DC comics, and it also has a vast number of members. In the Dwayne Johnson-led movie, its ranks will include Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone, Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, and Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher.
Plot details for Black Adam are still being kept under wraps. However, the film is expected to revolve around Teth Adam's origin story and his reawakening in modern day.
Meanwhile, the JSA's role in Black Adam is still unclear, but it looks like the team will duke it out against the titular character. In addition, official footage from the movie teased that the team's story would take place in the present day.
Now, a special look at one of the members of the JSA has been unveiled in a new teaser.

Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher Shines in DC Debut
Among all the members of the JSA, Atom Smasher has a complex relationship with Black Adam.
In the comics, Albert Rothstein and Black Adam became friends when the latter joined the JSA, thus forging a new bond. Atom Smasher also sympathized with Adam's anti-hero approach, ultimately leading the pair to leave the team.
It is unknown if the pair's comic backstory will be adapted in the upcoming movie. However, Noah Centineo's previous comments suggest that some elements from the comics will be featured.
During DC FanDome 2020, the DC actor teased that Atom Smasher will go through a "transformation throughout the film" and he is "not expecting the world of being the superhero."
This previous tease could hint that Atom Smasher will serve as Teth Adam's ally after their initial confrontation, thus potentially solidifying the idea that Adam's views are aligned with Rothstein's.
The Direct also reported that Al Pratt aka the original Atom will appear in the film, with the character acting as an uncle figure to Rothstein. It's possible that Rothstein's backstory will be fleshed out, hinting that the original Atom's past actions could've been the reason why Atom Smasher's views of being a superhero would change. This could hint that Black Adam is the final push that the character needs to completely abandon his ideals of being a hero.
All in all, Atom Smasher presents many exciting opportunities for Black Adam's mysterious storyline.
Black Adam is set to premiere in theaters on July 29, 2022.
