Continuing the story of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett brings new life to its titular character, with the famed bounty hunter turning his sights to ruling the crime world. From the outset, Fett has been quite successful, taking over Jabba the Hutt's position as crime lord. Much like its title character, the series itself has also seen much success, with its debut episode outperforming the recent premiere of Hawkeye.
Much like these other Disney+ series, it seems the show is poised to shock fans with interesting characters and moments. The Book of Boba Fett has already included flashbacks to the events of the prequels and the return of classic Star Wars races in the Hutt twins and a Wookie bounty hunter, with even more exciting stuff likely on the horizon.
According to an interview with Boba Fett actor, Temuera Morrison, the series is still packed with surprises, especially the final episode. More specifically, Morrison has teased the inclusion of some secret villains in the show. Other bits of information have leaked out in interviews, including the return of a classic Star Wars vehicle...
Will Boba Fett’s Gunship Return?
In a recent interview between ET Canada and The Book of Boba Fett stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen, Morrison let slip a detail about future episodes of the series. While speaking to the fun the pair had on set, Morrison began an anecdote, saying that "There's a great scene when we're on the gunship and we're both..."
However, Wen, sensing a possible spoiler, interjects. After asking "Is that, is that in The Mandalorian?" she seems to realize Morrison is referencing a moment in The Book of Boba Fett. Morrison quickly recovers, rephrasing his comment by saying "There was this great scene that I was gonna talk about."
How Boba Fett’s Gunship Could Fit Into the Series
Based on Morrison's comment and Wen's swift reaction, it seems clear that Boba Fett's gunship will be making its return in this season of The Book of Boba Fett. The ship, which had its name recently changed from Slave I to Boba Fett's Starship, was last seen in season two of The Mandalorian, with Boba Fett at the helm.
As such, the fact that it will be appearing in this series is not too shocking of a surprise. In many ways, the ship is as iconic a part of the Boba Fett character as his armor. Within the world of Star Wars, the vehicle is also quite recognizable, another likely reason for its inclusion.
Even so, the potential ship's presence in The Book of Boba Fett does point to a few different plot details. While the vehicle may only serve an offensive purpose, Helping Fett take down some rival criminals, it could also indicate that the show intends to take the character off-world, extending his sights beyond Tatooine.
Whatever role the ship takes in the series, fans will no doubt be happy to see it return to the screen.
