HAWKMAN is a critical leading role for our movie, as he is the fiery leader of the JSA (Justice Society of America) and one of the most beloved and legendary characters in the DC UNIVERSE.

I called Aldis personally as I wanted to surprise him that he got the role and it wound up being one of the greatest conversations I’ve ever had.

Aldis: I’m sorry you’ll have to hold on for a one second.
* he puts the phone down and walks away and all I hear is inaudible yells 😂

WHAT THIS MEANS

Both Johnson and Hodge are clearly over the moon about the casting announcement, as both are incredibly confident that Hodge will be perfect for the role of Hawkman. The hero is one of the earliest characters ever created in DC lore, serving as one of the first members of the Justice Society and one of Black Adam’s most noteworthy foes.

Hawkman will be teaming up with Noah Centenio’s Atom Smasher against Black Adam, who will be in for quite the fight in the first ever big screen adaptation of the popular DC villain . The character has been utilized in multiple animated shows, along with the live-action Arrowverse, and fans are already going crazy thinking of his debut in theaters next year.

Black Adam is set to begin production in early 2021 and release later that year on December 22.
