With the MCU's Phase 4 having officially kicked off earlier this year, there's been one character that fans have seen a lot more of than maybe they expected: Wong.
First introduced in Doctor Strange, the character has gone on to become a key connective tissue between MCU films. He was most recently seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. By the movie's end, he was already giving Shang-Chi an Avengers-related pep talk.
The next time fans will see the sorcerer will be in this December's Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the first trailer for the highly anticipated project, Wong can be seen presumably leaving for his adventures in Shang-Chi while also warning Strange not to cast the fateful spell that Peter is asking for.
Benedict Wong, the actor behind bringing the character to life, has taken to Instagram not only to celebrate the upcoming film's release and new trailer debut but also to reminisce on how he never thought he'd be in the spot he's in––including having met the great Stan Lee.
Wong Celebrates Spider-Man
Actor Benedict Wong took to Instagram to celebrate the upcoming release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
In his post, the actor mentioned how he "started collecting Spiderman comics as a kid" and that he "had no idea it would lead [him] to meeting Stan Lee [and] joining the MCU:"
"SpiderWong SpiderWong, does whatever a SpiderWong does! I started collecting Spiderman comics as a kid. I had no idea it would lead me to meeting Stan Lee [and] joining the MCU!! To be featured in @spidermanmovie is the icing on the cake. #SpiderManNoWayHome"

The Future of the MCU is Wong
Anticipation for the webslinger's next outing is at an all-time high, with fans only hours away from a brand-new trailer which they are hoping will reveal a lot more about what can be expected going into the film.
After Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wong will play an important part in Doctor Strange's next adventure in the Multiverse of Madness next May. While his particular place in the story isn't known, given how much he's shown up recently, one can only assume it will be something meaty.
There's also the chance that the character could show up in She-Hulk. With Abomination posed to make his proper return in the Disney+ show, maybe the Sorcerer will show his face at some point, seeing as he was the last person seen with Blonsky.
Spidey's next adventure––or should we say Wong's––will be hitting theaters on December 17, 2021.
