The Mandalorian Season 2 is now only 10 days away, and anticipation continues to grow. Fans were treated to a Special Look at the upcoming season during Monday Night Football, but the omission of major plot points and character reveals has only added to the hunger for new episodes.
The first trailer for Season 2 was easily the stronger of the two, as it added new layers of mystery to the evolving story. One such element that was revealed was the currently anonymous character played by WWE star Sasha Banks. While the actress was expectedly tight-lipped, Banks recently took some time to share her thoughts on Season 2...
NEWS
In an interview with The New Day's "Feel The Power" podcast via Comic Book Movie, actress Sasha Banks shared her excitement over her casting for The Mandalorian Season 2:
"It still has not hit me. There is not much I can talk about yet. All I can say is I’m in it. I can’t believe it. I’m so excited and can’t wait for everybody to see it."
Banks also noted that she hasn't seen the upcoming episodes herself:
"Season 2 is going to be so incredible. I have not seen the episodes. I probably won’t even know what’s going on actually (until it airs). It’s so secretive."
WHAT THIS MEANS
Everything is shrouded in secrecy with Lucasfilm's big projects, and with good reason. Part of the experience of seeing new Star Wars is enjoying the surprises, and the Baby Yoda reveal in Chapter 1 from the first season was a stunner. By keeping away major information from even members of the cast, more moments like that will be possible as leaks are avoided.
Speaking of leaks, nobody seems to know exactly who Sasha Banks is playing, so her character's identity will likely remain a mystery until we meet her in Season 2. The popular theory is that she's playing Sabine Wren, which is possible, but lines from the two trailers could point to her also being a Jedi, or Force user in general, or just another Mandalorian affiliated with Sabine and Ahsoka.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. If even Banks doesn't know the full scope of Season 2, it's fair to say that some major surprises are in store for us starting October 30.
I have spoken.
