With The Book of Boba Fett having ended roughly a month ago, fans have been patiently waiting for what comes next. In this case, it's the highly anticipated Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Ewan McGregor-led solo outing is set to follow the titular Jedi Knight in his exile on Tatooine while he watches over Luke Skywalker and avoids the eyes of the Empire, who are looking to snuff out any remaining Jedi in the galaxy.

There are plenty of exciting surprises teased for the series. On the top of the list is the return of Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy. The star will return to embody Darth Vader as the duo gets a proper rematch—or two if the rumors are believed.

He'll be far from the only threat the exiled Jedi will be facing. There will also be Inquisitors, or Jedi hunters, on the prowl. Additionally, it was rumored that their leader, the Grand Inquisitor, would be making his live-action debut in the series.

Thanks to a new interview from Entertainment Weekly, his role in the story has now been confirmed.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Moses Ingram broke the silence about her role in as Inquisitor Reva in the upcoming Disney+ show Obi-Wan.

Not only did Ingram reveal information about this new mysterious foe, but the actress also confirmed that the Grand Inquisitor is among the villainous trio (with Darth Vader rounding them out) who will be terrorizing the titular character. The character was first seen in Star Wars: Rebels where he hunted down the two leading Jedi before meeting his end in the Season 1 finale.

Ingram mentioned how "they share a common dark-side goal... they're on the same team."

She continued to reveal how the group "find[s] Obi-Wan at the beginning of our story rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up."

It was previously rumored that Rupert Friend would be playing the Grand Inquisitor in the upcoming series. The character was originally voiced by Jason Isaacs for his animated debut in Rebels.

The Inquisitor Hunts For Kenobi

Many fans are likely excited to finally see the Inquisitors come to life in live-action for the first time. Most general audiences are probably not even familiar with the concept of the villainous group, seeing as they've only shown up in Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Vader's cronies have become an integral part of the franchise's canon, so with this recent Disney+ expansion, it was only a matter of time before they crossed over to the silver screen.

The villain originally didn't make it to Rebels' second season, so his on-screen stay wasn't as long as many may have liked. Thankfully, the infamous Jedi hunter will still be alive and well with where Obi-Wan Kenobi resides in the timeline. His presence was fantastic in the animated series, so hopefully, Rupert Fiend (assuming the casting rumors are true) can bring his ruthlessness to life.

While Kenobi may be going up against Vader, the famous Jedi will more than likely also get pitted against the Inquisitor himself, alongside his new goon Reva, as they hunt for Luke Skywalker. It seems that the titular hero is going to have a lot to handle.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.
