After a successful Infinity Saga, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is poised to expand with new heroes and villains in their ambitious Phase 4 slate. The monumental franchise's venture into the small screen realm will play a key part in the transformation, but the movie branch will also introduce notable characters along the way.
One of those characters is Shang-Chi. Played by Simu Liu, the mysterious martial artist will debut in this July's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings alongside a key Marvel villain in the form of Tony Leung's Mandarin. Plot details of the film are still being kept under wraps, but it has been rumored that the character will feature an intriguing power set and an action-packed narrative.
Production has already wrapped for Shang-Chi, meaning that a first look will soon arrive. Now, Liu has taken to social media to hype fans for the film's eventual trailer debut.
FIRST LOOK AT SHANG-CHI COMING SOON?
Simu Liu promised fans that the wait for the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer is going to be “so good,” but the MCU actor admitted that it's “just not today.”

WILL THE MCU FILM'S RELEASE DATE STICK?
Given the ongoing health crisis, it's relatively unknown if the release date of Shang-Chi will remain in July, but this promise from the film's lead actor should still excite fans regardless. At this stage, this could potentially mean that a trailer might not be released soon because it seems likely that Marvel and Disney are still uncertain about the release strategy for their big-budget feature films.
It's no secret that Shang-Chi is one of the unique characters that will debut in the larger MCU due to the hero's fascinating skill-set and upcoming ties with the Mandarin. The dynamic between the Master of Kung Fu and the Wielder of the Ten Rings will no doubt be a must-see. Also, it will be interesting to find out how Marvel handles the action sequences of the film, mainly due to the fact that this is the franchise's first foray into the realm of martial arts.
On top of the film's connection to MCU lore, Shang-Chi will also lead a significant change under the Marvel Studios banner through its predominant Asian cast. The project will continue to break ground as it represents more diversity for the successful superhero franchise.
All in all, Shang-Chi has the potential to change the MCU in many ways, with Liu leading the charge.
