The Falcon and the Winter Solider is less than a month away from its premiere on Disney+, and marketing for the series is beginning to ramp up. The show will focus on Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes as they navigate life after fighting alongside Chris Evans' Steve Rogers and returning from their five-year disappearance as part of the infamous Blip covered in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

While not much is known about the upcoming series, there are a few details that have been coming to light over the past couple of weeks. Fans have grown excited to see these characters take the spotlight, and from the looks of a new set photo, it appears viewers are going to be learning quite a bit about their lives beyond battle.

FALCON'S GOT A SISTER

Disney has  new photo from the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier depicts Falcon actor Anthony Mackie with director Kari Skogland and actor Adepero Oduye, with the caption confirming her role as Sam Wilson's sister Sarah.

The caption reads:

"(L-R): Falcon/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), Director Kari Skogland and Sarah Wilson (Adepero Oduye) on the set of Marvel Studios' THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER exclusively on Disney+."

A FAMILY AFFAIR

This confirms that Adepero Oduye is playing Sarah Wilson, who comic fans may know as Sam's younger sister. It's likely that this means viewers will get to hear more of Sam's backstory other than his time in the Air Force, and that stories - and possibly even flashbacks - of his childhood will be included in the series.

Sarah's presence may indicate that other family members of Sam's could also appear in the show. In the comics, Sarah is a widowed single mother to multiple children, one of them being a son named Jody Casper who Sam tries to look out for. It's possible Marvel Studios will showcase the dynamic between Sam and his nephew as well (that is, if he even exists in the MCU!).

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on Disney+ March 19.
