Next up on Marvel Studios' Phase 4 slate is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film is set to introduce the Master of Kung Fu to the MCU, and has been teased as nothing like anything fans have seen to date.
The movie has already been seen by critics around the world, and it's been met with high praise across the board. It would seem as if Marvel Studios' winning streak isn't set to end anytime soon.
One of the bigger moments in the trailer was when Marvel revealed Abomination's return in the film. Not only that, but The Incredible Hulk villain was fighting Doctor Strange's Wong in a cage match. There were lots of questions, to say the least; and the scene remains one of the most highly anticipated aspects of the film for many.
Well, now Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for the film; one that not only teases Avengers Endgame, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger, but also gives fans a new foreboding scene featuring Wong.
WONG GIVES A WARNING
Marvel Studios has released a new look at Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which features a new scene with Wong as he forebodingly warns that "there's no going back" to an off-screen character.
The trailer also highlights seminal moments of the Infinity Saga up until Avengers: Endgame, paving the way for Shang-Chi to make his MCU debut.
The promo for the film can be seen below:
WHY THE WARNING, WONG?
It's getting to that period of promoting the film where the studios become far less worried about spoilers, as they are now just trying to pull some of the more casual audiences into seeing their film. With this new scene of Doctor Strange's trusted companion Wong, it certainly seems like something late in the game.
For one, fans haven't seen anything from Wong in the film besides glimpses of his fight against Abomination. With this promo, it's revealed he has more of a role in the movie besides just that, and at some point, Wong is likely to meet up with Shang-Chi—though who he's talking to in the trailer is only implied.
Fans will have to wait until September 3 to find out why the Sorcerer Supreme's colleague is warning the new MCU hero, but there's no doubt that it will be worth the wait. The real question is if this new origin story will be able to match up to the likes of Captain America, Thor, or Iron Man, as teased—something fans will soon be able to find out for themselves.
