Fortnite sprung into Season 5 a few months ago with its exciting Galactus Event , which tasked players with taking down the huge enemy with the help of a number of familiar faces.

Since then, we've seen some huge profile stars make their way to the battle royale game, with The Mandalorian , Terminator , Kratos , and Master Chief just a few of the names now available in-game.

Epic Games has made a reputation of keeping the game from feeling stale, with updates made regularly to ensure new content is always available. Given that Season 5 is a little more than halfway over, players have been wondering what could be next for the game, and a new trailer has revealed a brand-new location for the map.

KIT'S CANTINA ARRIVES

A post on the Epic Games website revealed multiple new features coming to Fortnite's Battle Royale mode.

A brand new playlist titled “ Mando's Bounty LTM” has been added to the game, which tasks players with eliminating players by tracking them via Bounty Pucks. The player with the most eliminations at the end of the game is crowned the winner and rewarded with a Beskar Umbrella.

To complement the new game-mode, Kit's Cantina has been added to the map, an iconic area within the Star Wars universe.

STAR WARS X FORTNITE CONTINUES

The number of crossovers present within Fortnite right now is staggering, with a number of high-profile characters and franchises being featured within the game in some way. Long gone are the days of emotes and skins designed purely from scratch; pop-culture is now the focus of the game. It's rare to go into a game without recognizing at least one feature from another entertainment piece.

The refresh of the game in October of last year, branding the beginning of 'Chapter 2', has given Fortnite a new feel to it, changing the iconic map and introducing a number of new features. The success of the game's 'Creative Mode' has also been evident, with players able to easily create and play user-generated maps as they please. Following its burst onto the scene a few years ago, Fortnite has continued to innovate and adapt.

Time will tell whether these huge crossover events will continue into the next season, with The Mandalorian taking a heavy focus in Season 5's Battle Pass rewards. Epic seems to have formed a working relationship with Disney and Lucasfilms up to now, so we could see some other iconic characters in the future. Indiana Jones?

Fortnite is available free to play on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Samsung mobile devices.
