Insomniac Games is quickly becoming one of the biggest game development studios out there. Just in the last couple of years, they have put out Marvel's Spider-Man, been bought by Sony, and released the stellar Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
Marvel Games has started to branch out with titles like Guardians of the Galaxy, and Marvel's Midnight Suns. However, Insomniac is not done playing in the comics world as it was just announced they will be releasing Spider-Man 2 in 2023, after releasing the tie-in game Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
And they are not stopping there...
Insomniac is Taking on Wolverine
Marvel's Wolverine has been announced at the PlayStation Fall 2021 Showcase. The game is being developed by the Spider-Man: Miles Morales team at Insomniac Games.
Not much was shown in the brief trailer, but gamers did get a good look at Logan's signature claws.
The title will come exclusively to PS5. Watch the teaser trailer for Marvel's Wolverine below:
Can't Wait to Dig the Claws In
Just to start this off, Insomniac Games is a group of some truly crazy people. Just in the last year, the studio has put out Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Miles Morales, and now gamers already know the next two protects coming from the team in Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.
Now, there is not much to glean from this brief trailer shown; however, just looking at the team within Insomniac that is heading this project, gamers can take a bit away from this announcement.
Could this potentially be a smaller experience, similar to how Miles Morales was in comparison to its predecessor? Well, maybe not quite as small as the PS5 launch title, but it might not be the massive open-world adventure that Spider-Man PS4 was in 2018.
Wolverine's character lends himself to a much smaller and more personal story — or at least smaller in terms of the greater Marvel universe. Whatever it does end up being, though, the Logan faithful can rest assured that their favorite mutant is in good hands.
