Marvel has recently been making their presence known in the gaming arena.

Their first big step in that direction was Insomniac's Spider-Man in 2018, which was loved by nearly everyone that touched it. In fact, it went on to have a spinoff sequel in Spider-Man: Miles Moraleswhich served as a PS5 launch title.

Marvel surprised everyone when it was revealed that not only was there confirmed to be a Guardians of the Galaxy game, but also that it was set to release this upcoming October.

To go even further, the game was set to be single-player that focused entirely on its campaign. This came as music to many ears, especially after how Square Enix's Avengers went (and is still going) down.

Now, at the Playstation Showcase, a brand new cinematic trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy has been revealed.

The new trailer for the game can be seen below:

This new cinematic trailer certainly shows a lot more of what everyone's favorite Guardians of the Galaxy will be contending with when their game hits. When it was announced, the villain revealed was Lady Hellbender—an unknown and relatively unexciting bad guy out of the gate.

But now, it's clear that one of the bigger—if not the main—bad guys the team will face is The Universal Church of Truth. In the comics, the organization is a religious empire composed of many different alien species who worship Magus, the evil side of Adam Warlock.

While it's not known if Adam Warlock (or Magus) will be in the game, this would seem to indicate that it's likely. The trailer also showed off Cosmo and his telepathic abilities, alongside the Nova Corp's Worldmind, a comic accurate concept not seen yet in the films.

With all this talk of other Marvel properties making an appearance, maybe Richard Rider's Nova could make a cameo at some point during the game's long adventure! Anything is possible.
