Sasha Banks in The Mandalorian, Hot Ones Appearance

It's been quite the week for The Mandalorian . The live-action debut of Bo-Katan Kryze was mind-blowing in ways that fans hadn't thought possible, bringing a beloved character over from animation into Din Djarin's world. Actress Katee Sackhoff described the process of getting the call , detailing her incredible experience working with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni on the show.

But Bo-Katan wasn't the only Mandalorian to enter Mando's story. After what seemed like endless speculation, WWE star Sasha Banks' character was revealed to be Koska Reeves , one of Bo-Katan's Nite Owl sidekicks. After annihilating a force Imperial Remnant stormtroopers, the actress has broken down her experience with getting the role and bringing Reeves to life...

NEWS

In an interview with Variety , actress Sasha Banks discussed her excitement and apprehension over being cast in The Mandalorian :

"So Jon Favreau came to me because he watched an interview that I did with ‘Hot Ones.’ And he really liked me and got my contact information. Then on FaceTime he asked me to be part of ‘The Mandalorian.’ I was like, ‘Well, I cannot say no,’ but I was so incredibly nervous, because I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do it with the WWE schedule. You know, we used to travel a lot."

But those fears disappeared quickly, and Banks was thrilled by the opportunity to be in Star Wars:

"But they made it work and everything happened. And it was such an incredible episode. I still just can’t get over how awesome that was. Not only to be part of ‘Star Wars,’ but one of legit the greatest episodes in the history of television like that. I could watch that all the time. That was such a bad ass introduction to the world of ‘Star Wars.’ I’m so thankful I saved Baby Yoda! I cannot get over it. Oh my god."

The experience with the production team made the actress feel welcome and part of the family:

"And you know, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and Bryce Howard, they were so amazing towards me. Any questions I had, because I was so incredibly shy and nervous, they answered. But [Jon] reminded me ‘Uh, you do WWE every single week and you do that live. You are amazing. There’s a reason why I wanted you to be a part of the show.’ So that made me feel at home and I totally gained a whole new family and I’m just so thankful."

WHAT THIS MEANS

It looks like The Mandalorian is blessed with yet another outstanding cast member who's given her all to the galaxy far, far away. Koska Reeves didn't have many speaking lines, but Sasha Banks brought a great deal of physicality to the role that can be expected from a WWE star.

When we'll see the character again remains to be seen. Bo-Katan's hunt for Gideon and the Darksaber will undoubtedly continue in The Mandalorian , and Reeves will certainly be right at her leader's side. If the rumors of a Bo-Katan and Cara Dune spinoff series are true, then Sasha Banks may become a mainstay in Star Wars for the foreseeable future.

New Mandalorians are always cool, and Koska Reeves' journey in the Star Wars universe is just beginning. The aforementioned rumored spinoff would be a great project for Bryce Dallas Howard to oversee, which would allow for the continuation of Sasha Banks' great working experience in this world. Her character's fate is uncertain, but Banks already has a new massive group of fans eager to see how it goes moving forward.
