When between Disney+ projects, it’s always great to look back on what’s come so far. As it stands, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is the most-watched Marvel Studios streaming project on the service. The show prepped the playing field for Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, while also exploring Loki’s deeply complex character. It also introduced one of many Kang the Conquerors, a villain that is being teased as the next Thanos-level threat.
The season ended with a massive cliffhanger waiting to be resolved. The entire TVA seems to be different, and nobody remembers Loki’s previous antics.
At the very least, it seems that all of the cast will be returning despite some of these massive developments. Owen Wilson's Mobius will get another go in the MCU, Ravonna Renslayer will return from her Kang-seeking adventure, and Sylvie theoretically finds her way back into one of the time streams she can see from her fancy multiverse-viewing window.
Familiar Faces Alongside Loki
While presenting at Disney’s Upfront in New York City, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that not only is Loki the studios' most-viewed Marvel series on Disney+, but also the show's second season would "[see] the whole cast returning" as the series begins filming next month.
The cast this is likely to include, would be Tom Hiddleston's Loki (obviously), Owen Wilson's Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Ravonna Renslayer, Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie, Wunmi Mosaku's Hunter B-15, and Tara Strong's Miss Minutes. There's always the chance that former Variants, such as Richard E. Grant's Classic Loki and Jack Veal's Kid Loki could join the party once again as well.
Which Actors Will Return In Loki Season 2?
For anyone who fears they saw the last of characters such as Ravonna Renslayer, Sylvie, or Mobius, rest assured that they’ll be back for the season. Each has plenty of room for interesting story development.
Maybe Mobius finally got that jet ski ride, or Renslayer has started her romantic entanglements with Kang. Even Hunter C-20, the TVA agent who first discovered how they are all Variants, could return—maybe Renslayer was lying about her untimely fate.
But does this mean Jonathan Majors will return as Kang? Given how Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may have already been released by then, who knows where Kang will be? Would Fiege consider him part of the cast or a guest star with an uncertain past? One would think, given the events of season one, that the character would play a major role in the proceedings.
Seems like fans will have to wait to see what happens.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania releases on February 17, 2023, while Loki will hit Disney+ at some point in that same year.
