Although the Snyder Cut has finally been released after years of fan campaigning, the conversation surrounding the film isn't over just yet .
Fans continue to avidly discuss the film's greatest moments , its potential future , and what could have been. Though this was said to be Zack Snyder's full vision for Justice League , he was still unable to include characters like John Stewart's Green Lantern due to Warner Bros. meddling.
One of the surprising inclusions in the Snyder Cut was a different Green Lantern in the form of Kilowog, who was looking a bit worse for wear in the rubble of the Hall of Justice . A concept artist for the film revealed a possible suit for the Bolovaxian hero, being reminiscent of Hal Jordan's New 52 outfit .
Now, more concept art has shown off another idea for Kilowog's look in Zack Snyder's Justice League which has a notable addition to the character's design...
THE SNYDER CUT'S KILOWOG BEARDS UP
Concept artist Jerad S. Marantz shared potential designs for Kilowog from Zack Snyder's Justice League on his Instagram , depicting the Green Lantern in an all-new suit.
This design is a departure from Marantz's other illustrations , featuring a mechanical suit made up of multiple triangular panels with translucent green plating over the top.
Marantz also included a masked variant of the Green Lantern, where Kilowog is sporting some thin facial hair.
THE HAIRIEST MEMBER OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE?
Kilowog is frequently depicted as being a completely hairless fellow in the comics, so giving the character facial hair is certainly an interesting design choice.
The character actually does opt for some peach fuzz in 2013's Green Lantern as well as a light buzz cut. Perhaps this bearded look could be a small homage to Kilowog's look in his first-ever live-action appearance.
Kilowog wasn't the only character who could have gotten facial hair, as Superman almost came back from the dead with a full-blown mullet and beard combo . Perhaps this is as good a time as any to start a #ReleaseTheBeardedCut campaign.
While the film opted for a classic version of the Green Lantern costume, it is interesting to know that Kilowog could have had a more technology-based suit at one point. Ultimately, though, the final design used in the film provides the most fan service, clearly a goal that Zack Snyder was aiming for from the outset.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is streaming now on HBO Max.
