Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most anticipated films of the year, by a long shot—ever since 2021 started. A lot of that is in part due to all of the returning villains from previous movies, or the many rumors of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire making their appearances.
There are, however, other whispers which are cause for excitement: Charlie Cox possibly returning to the role of Matt Murdock at some point within the film; yes, the very same Murdock that fans watched three seasons over on Netflix with Daredevil.
To go along with the conversation about the blind vigilante making his grand emergence in the MCU, it's been rumored that Vincent D'Onofrio will be back as Kingpin in the upcoming Hawkeye Disney+ show.
With all of the talk about some of these former Netflix Marvel actors returning to their roles, but this time in the MCU, certainly makes one wonder who else might be making a big return. One of the first that comes to mind? None other than Jessica Jones' Krysten Ritter.
Will Jessica Jones Live Again?
Krysten Ritter sat down with Screenrant, where the actor was asked if she would return to the role of Jessica Jones in the MCU down the line.
Ritter made it clear that "[she] would absolutely just die to play Jessica again," saying "[she's] so proud of that character:"
"I would absolutely just die to play Jessica again. I had the best time doing it and I just love her so much. I'm so proud of that character. Not only because it was like a great role and she's such a bad-ass, but that character has really resonated with people in a way that I don't know who else has. Really, really resonated with women and girls, trauma survivors. It's just so, so big and such a thing I'm so grateful to have been a part of."
Ritter finished off by saying that "if there's ever an opportunity for me to put on those boots, I will be there in a flash."
Jessica Jones, MCU Private Eye
It's no surprise that Ritter couldn't outright confirm anything—this is Marvel Studios we're talking about. It, however, is great to see that she would be very excited to get the opportunity to dive into the role once again.
With all the rumors about Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, previous actors from the Marvel Netflix shows have been getting asked the same question. People such as Jon Bernthal, who would also be happy to keep his character's legacy going—he just isn't holding out any specific expectations that the planets will align.
Jessica Jones was received just as positively as Daredevil was when it was released, and many people hold Krysten Ritter's performance just as high on a pedestal as Cox's. Maybe if Jessica Jones gets to live on in the MCU, they'll actually not be afraid of her relationship with Luke Cage like Netflix was.
