LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga recently launched with the most playable content in franchise history. Featuring 300 playable characters, 24 explorable planets, 45 main missions, and endless activities around the galaxy, the blockbuster title offers plenty to keep gamers busy for some time. But launch is just the beginning with plenty of DLC content still to come.

Those who purchase the Character Collection - which comes included with the Deluxe Edition of the game - will receive seven additional character packs released over time. The Mandalorian Season 1 and Solo-inspired DLC arrived on day one, unlocking galactic heroes and villains including Mando, Cara Dune, Qi'ra, and more.

Rogue One and Classic Characters packs will follow on April 19, with the DLC season concluding on May 4 (Star Wars Day) with The Mandalorian Season 2, The Bad Batch, and Trooper Packs.

Unfortunately, some players have faced difficulty in gaining access to several of the DLC packs which they should have received from launch.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has fixed a PlayStation DLC issue that unlocked the wrong character packs for some physical Deluxe Edition owners.

Deluxe Edition owners should have received The Mandalorian Season 1 and Solo character packs at launch, however, some players reported only having access to the Classic Character pack, which releases on April 19.

In response to a player inquiring about the issue, WB Games Support confirmed that all physical Deluxe Edition owners "should now have the correct content" available on their PSN account to download:

"We can confirm that in partnership with PlayStation all owners of the Physical Deluxe Edition that were given the incorrect DLC content should now have the correct content directly on their PSN accounts and can download the content if you haven’t already done so."

LEGO Star Wars Begins Its DLC Season

DLC has rarely been a major focus for the LEGO games in the sense it has been for other AAA franchises. Post-launch content has typically been limited to adding further playable characters, with only a few titles releasing new playable missions.

It's unfortunate that The Skywalker Saga opted to only release new characters in its DLC, as missions based on The MandalorianSoloRogue One, and The Bad Batch could have made for an incredible experience. But given the game's focus on the nine main films in the franchise, it was a logical decision.

Perhaps in the years to come, gamers may be treated to another entry in the LEGO Star Wars franchise. One which could potentially focus on the ever-expanding MandoVerse, including The MandalorianThe Book of Boba FettRangers of the New Republic, and Ahsoka.

As the gaming industry places increasing focus on live-service titles which receive constant content updates after release, LEGO's DLC model may feel somewhat archaic. With TT Games already reported to be working on another LEGO game, it would be intriguing to see how they would handle a slightly different take on post-launch content.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
