The Disney+ Loki series will mark the seventh time in nine years that actor Tom Hiddleston has played the God of Mischief. Hiddleston made his first debut in the MCU in Marvel Studios' Thor in 2011. Loki will consist of six episodes and premiere in the Spring of 2021. Fans will see Loki face off with more formidable opponents in a newly created timeline. This is the direct result of when Loki stole the Tesseract from 2012 during the Time Heist in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame .
Actress Sophia Di Martino is currently the only other actor that has been cast in the series . It is rumored that she could be playing a female version of Loki. This take on the character made her first appearance in the Marvel comics when Loki returned from Ragnarok in the body of Lady Sif in Thor Vol. 3, No. 5 . Although, it's unlikely that Loki showrunner Michael Waldron and director Kate Herron will want to take the series in this direction as there is no sign of Jaimie Alexander reprising her role as Lady Sif in the series.
Additional actors and actresses will surely be cast as new characters and potentially even alternative versions of pre-existing MCU characters to act alongside Hiddleston and Di Martino in the series. This latest rumor from Murphy's Multiverse could provide some brand new insight into two yet-to-be-revealed characters that might also feature in the Loki series.
RUMOR
According to Charles Murphy from Murphy's Multiverse , a recently released casting call for a Marvel Studios project has revealed that the studio is looking for a "Male, 10 years old, British, Open Ethnicity, smart and brave with a sharp wit and life experience beyond his years..." in a recurring role. Marvel Studios also wants a " Female, 10 years old, British, Caucasian, in tears over a frightening situation, she relies on her intelligence and resilience to find a way out."
WHAT THIS MEANS
Although it was not specified which show this casting call is for, it is likely for the Loki Disney+ series. Unless Sophia Di Martino is playing a female version of Loki, this casting call could be describing a young version of her unknown character. If the quote, "life experience beyond his years" is any indication, it sounds like Marvel Studios is looking for a young actor to play Kid Loki.
Kid Loki was a reborn version of Loki that made his first appearance in the Marvel comics in Thor Vol. 1, 617 . If true, this won't be the first time that audiences have seen Loki as a child. Young actor Ted Allpress previously portrayed Loki in flashbacks to his childhood in Marvel Studios' Thor .
