Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be a game-changing MCU adventure as Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange grapples with the consequences of his spell from Spider-Man: No Way Home. Joining him in his next adventure is an ensemble of new and returning characters, such as Benedict Wong's Wong, Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff, Rachel McAdams' Christine Palmer, and newcomer Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

Marketing for Multiverse of Madness has also been ramping up in the past weeks, with Marvel Studios officially releasing more footage, posters, and merchandise for the upcoming sequel. As part of those reveals, different interviews with the cast and crew have also made their way online, and all signs indicate that the film will reveal a lot of unexpected instances that could surprise fans.

Now, ahead of its release, more new footage has been revealed, giving fans a preview of what to expect.

The Multiverse is Unleashed in Doctor Strange 2

Even though Marvel Studios has released several new trailers for Multiverse of Madness, this latest featurette clearly suggests that there are more surprises.

Based on the footage shown, it looks like America Chavez will be initially protected by Defender Strange, but the mysterious creature in that dimension might've defeated the Variant. As a result, Chavez would be teleported to the main MCU, kicking off the events of the sequel.

The scenes at Kamar-Taj seem to imply that the sorcerer's base will be under attack by a mysterious threat. One running theory is that the Scarlet Witch is the hidden attacker, potentially hinting that she could be after Chavez or Strange.

The image of Wong in danger appears to be in the same location as Zombie Strange. It looks like an imminent duel between the Sorcerer Supreme and the Strange Variant could be in the cards, but Wong's precarious position seems to hint that things are not looking good for him.

Scarlet Witch's battle with a Captain Marvel Variant seems poised to be a visual treat for fans, and this sequence could likely be one of the memorable ones in the sequel.

Whatever the case, all will be revealed when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in theaters on May 6.
