It's been almost two years since The Outer Worlds hit store shelves. The sci-fi RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment was met with largely positive critical reception and has had fans salivating for more.
After Microsoft bought Obsidian it became unclear whether the team would ever get to revisit The Outer Worlds, with titles Grounded and Avowed both in development at the studio.
Well, it seems as though the team can take one more project.
OUTER WORLDS 2 ON THE WAY
The Outer Worlds 2 has been announced as a part of Xbox's E3 Showcase.
The full trailer can be seen below:
OBSIDIAN STRETCHED THIN
While it is all but certain that The Outer Worlds 2 is a long way out, it is puzzling to see on studio with so many irons in the fire. Grounded hasn't even seen a full 1.0 release yet, and Avowed debuted not even a year ago.
However, sometimes the industry just needs those games that fans are looking forward to for years and years, and The Outer Worlds 2 is most likely the next.
Now taking a look at the trailer itself, the Obsidian team does not seem to be reinventing the wheel here. The same dry humor that was present in the first game is here in bunches in this trailer.
The Obsidian faithful can surely expect a deep, action-packed RPG, sprinkled with a clever dusting of that signature Outer Worlds funny bone.
