LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is finally out in the world, and it seems the very long wait was worth it. The latest LEGO Star Wars game puts a new spin on the franchise with open world-style maps, hundreds of playable characters and main missions that take players through each of the nine movies in the Skywalker Saga.
While LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has opened to rave reviews across the board, not everything has been smooth sailing. Just recently, the developers had to issue a fix that was related to DLC packs and since launch day, players have been experiencing multiple bugs, glitches and crashes.
While issues like these are relatively easy fixes, the same can't be said for features that are missing entirely and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has a few. One of the most notable omissions is that of the classic LEGO character customization.
Mod Brings Character Customization to LEGO Star Wars
TT Games confirmed late last month that the character customization feature would not be included in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. However, that hasn't stopped players from building their own anyway.
A YouTube video uploaded by @jedijosh920 shows a mod being tested in the new LEGO Star Wars game that allows character customization. Options in the test menu include randomize all, hologram toggle, and giant mode, all of which change the appearance of the player character in a mix-and-match style.

The Force Is Strong With This Mod
At this stage, this LEGO Star Wars mod appears to still be in test mode, so isn't publicly available yet. It also appears to be slightly different to the character customization features seen in previous LEGO games.
The mod shown in the video allows players to randomize the look of their character, which presumably pulls from a library of existing costume options, but it doesn't yet allow the customization of each individual piece or weapon as seen in previous games. However, with this still being a test mod those options could be in the works.
The lack of character customization was disappointing for a lot of LEGO Star Wars players. While the game does offer an expansive library of 300 characters to choose from, character customization has become a core part of LEGO games.
It's an integral feature for those wishing to add an extra level of personalization to their gameplay experience as it allows them to roam the world as a character of their own making rather than a pre-set. Many players would no doubt love to explore LEGO Star Wars as a Jedi or rebel of their own, but that so far hasn't been an option.
It's unclear if TT Games has plans to include a customization feature in future updates, so for now players will have to make do with mods like this one.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
