LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Confirms One Disappointing Missing Feature

LEGO Star Wars has been a gaming series close to the hearts of many Star Wars fans. While not the most complex experience on the market, they're incredibly fun for most players, and the franchise has plenty of installments. The original was released back in 2005, and throughout the years was followed by The Original Trilogy, The Complete Saga, and The Force Awakens.

The newest entry in the series is set to hit in just over two months' time, and it looks to be a doozy. Titled The Skywalker Saga, this new adventure will take players through the events of all nine of the core films.

One of the best ways to play through the games is with a friend. Normally, it's in the form of couch co-op with someone besides the main player. Many fans had hoped they might be able to play with friends online as well, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Is LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Multiplayer?

It has been discovered, thanks to the Family Video Game Database, that the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be missing one key feature: online co-op.

The only LEGO game in the past to have gotten online Multiplayer was The Complete Saga, which was released all the way back in 2007. So, for many, the exclusion of online play isn't surprising.

Couch Co-op Confirmed

TT Games has long made it clear that its main priority when it comes to co-op play is with someone in-person. With gaming in today's society and tech, it's odd how there isn't more focus on additional multiplayer options. Adding the option certainly wouldn't hurt, especially as it would free up tons of screen real estate.

However, for those on Steam, there's already a nifty way to play with someone online: Remote Play. It's a feature that is often available for use on the LEGO games, and for the most part, fills the void nicely. Console plays will sadly be out of luck on that front.

Either way, the game is finally almost here. After what seemed like endless delays, fans might actually get their hand on the massive game. Given the amount of storytelling ground it has to cover and how it will have at least 24 planet locations, playing through Skywalker Saga may take quite a bit of time to complete.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will release on 04/05/2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
