Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have something very exciting to look forward to aboard the Disney Wish cruise ship when it sets sail in the summer of 2022.
Disney promises the vessel will offer passengers immersive experiences in all of Disney's universes. With rides, stage shows, and kid's clubs, Disney Wish is shaping up to be a first-of-its-kind at-sea experience.
For Marvel lovers, an all-new dining experience will transport guests right into the iconic locations seen in the MCU films.
DISNEY WISH'S CINEMATIC DINING EXPERIENCE
In a new post on the Disney Parks Blog, Danny Handke, Senior Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering revealed that Disney Wish's new dining attraction—named Worlds of Marvel—will allow guests to, "....play an interactive role in an action-packed Avengers mission that unfolds around them." This won't be a rehash of the films either. Handke claims, "the experience will feature an original storyline starring fan-favorite Avengers and an infamous foe."
Fitting with Disney's desire to deliver larger-than-life experiences, Worlds of Marvel, "will up the ante on the traditional “dinner and a show” concept."
Fittingly for its name, the experience will visit Marvel Cinematic Universe locations from films like Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther while giving diners culinary connections to their favorite movies, "...with dishes inspired by legendary locales like African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia, and the Avengers’ home base of New York City."
CRUISING THROUGH FANTASTIC WORLDS
From Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to Avengers Campus, Disney is hard at work to let fans get up close and personal to the worlds they love. Disney seems keen to flex its chops further by delivering a unique experience exclusive to Disney Wish.
Beyond just Worlds of Marvel, Disney Wish will include an exclusive iteration of the Marvel Super Hero Academy attraction currently available on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, and Disney Fantasy liners. These attractions—in all their forms—have proven wildly successful for the company and their commitment to not only deliver more experiences but entirely new ones is an exciting concept.
While they've yet to commit to as sizable or immersive as Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge for the MCU, it's clear Disney understands the incredible potential the Marvel property offers for their Disney Parks and Disney Cruises divisions. Avengers Campus, combined with experiences like Marvel Super Hero Academy and Worlds of Marvel may be just the experimentation the company needs to move forward with a project on par with the unprecedented scale of Galaxy's Edge.
For fans hoping to bump shoulders with the heroes, villains, and locales of the Marvel universe, there's never been a time to be more excited about what the future could bring.
