LEGO games have been a staple of many gamer's libraries for over a decade now. They've been a perfect way to play on the couch alongside best friends, siblings, or even rivals. The game series has even dipped its toes into many different franchises, including Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and Lord of the Rings. One of its biggest, however, has been Star Wars.

Many gamers will likely bring up LEGO Star Wars when talking about their history as a gamer. It's one of those games that nearly everyone who has touched a controller has probably crossed paths with at least once or twice.

With the first one having released back in 2005, TT Games have gone on to release a total of five installments in the long-running series. Its sixth, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, is just around the corner. The wait has been a long one, but it has almost arrived.

Now, players know how much space they should expect the title to take up on their gaming vehicle of choice.

Lego Star Wars Install Size Revealed

The install size for the Pre-Load of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been revealed thanks to PlayStation Game Size on Twitter.

Without the first-day patch, players will need to make room for at least 38.182GB of space on the PlayStation 5, a record-high for the LEGO Star Wars game franchise. The size will vary across platforms but should remain roughly in the same ballpark. For reference, here are the sizes of the previous games in the franchise, according to Steam:

  • LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game: 4GB (released in 2005)
  • LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy: 3.5GB (released in 2006)
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga: 5GB (released in 2007)
  • LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars: 8GB (released in 2011)
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens: 14GB (released in 2016)

Jumping Back Into LEGO Star Wars

It's somehow been a whopping six years since the last entry in the LEGO Star Wars series. That title was based on The Force Awakens—which leaves, at the least, two entire episodes waiting to be translated into brick format.

For those hoping to see more recent content like The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett, sadly, neither of those will be included besides some post-game cosmetic DLC. It seems that proper coverage of The Clone Wars animated series will also be missing.

Either way, nine episodes of Star Wars content should be more than enough for most people. Thankfully, the wait is almost done, and gamers will finally be able to re-live the Skywalker Saga when the title releases on April 5, 2022.
