It’s been a rough ride for Marvel’s Avengers, but Square Enix hasn't given up on its superhero game yet. Crystal Dynamics continued to launch updates with new challenges, characters, and stories, one of the most anticipated of which is the addition of Black Panther.

Square Enix announced its roadmap for Marvel's Avengers earlier this year at its spring event. This included next-gen console updates, new story missions, additional game modes, and a big expansion featuring the iconic Marvel location of Wakanda.

Now, the first trailer for Marvel's Avengers War For Wakanda has arrived.

BLACK PANTHER ENTERS MARVEL'S AVENGERS

A new trailer for an upcoming expansion for Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers has been revealed during the studio's E3 presentation. The expansion is titled War for Wakanda and introduces Black Panther to the game as a playable character in his own story.

The new chapter will be included at no additional cost for Marvel's Avengers owners and will be released in August.

The full trailer can be seen below:

WAKANDA FOREVER

Black Panther was one of the most successful MCU films in recent memory, so it's no surprise Crystal Dynamics is bringing the hero into Marvel's Avengers. It may be months too late, but War for Wakanda appears to be the most significant update yet and could quite literally be a game-changer for Marvel's Avengers.

The trailer hinted at many familiar locations and characters Marvel fans will be familiar with. T'Challa, Shuri, and the Dora Milaje all made an appearance as did the glittering towers of Wakanda with its iconic panther statue.

Naturally, vibranium is at the heart of the story here, and while no gameplay was shown, fans did see Black Panther in battle alongside his fellow Avengers.

Fights against robotic spiders, Ulysses Kraw, and what looks like one hefty final boss were shown off.

If players weren't enticed by previous updates to Marvel's Avengers, War for Wakanda is sure to draw them back in.
