The art of translating video games to movies or TV series has yet to 100% perfected. Most gaming adaptions come out to lackluster fan reception and the thought that "the game did it better."
Though many have tried and failed, there are some examples of success in the transition from the controller to the silver screen. Movies like Detective Pikachu and Sonic The Hedgehog, while not Oscar contenders, have shown that the jump works. Other projects like the upcoming Last of Us HBO series and the Uncharted movie are hoping to buck the trend of middling video game adaptations.
Modern games are cinematic in nature, and it seems that one of the most movie-like among them may have Hollywood's eyes.
A POSSIBLE MASS EFFECT SERIES
Via insight from Gamepressure , according to a new post on Henry Cavill's Instagram page, the actor could be involved in an upcoming Mass Effect movie or TV series.
The caption reads:
Secret project? Or just a handful of paper with random words on it.... Guess you'll have to wait and see. Happy hump day all.

The post shows Cavill sitting in what looks to be a makeup chair while reading a blurred-out script. Internet sleuths have done some work on the photo to show that the text features words like "Cerberus", "Reaper", "Geth" and "Tali'Zorah," all keywords relating back to the Mass Effect series.
HENRY CAVILL: FROM GERALT TO GARRUS
If there is a project to break through the video game to Hollywood barrier, Mass Effect could be the one to do it. The RPG series is already so cinematic and features deep lore that could provide the building blocks for something truly special.
Now, as to if this is actually Mass Effect ? It surely has to be. Why else would the Superman actor be holding a block of redacted text featuring such easy hints to the Bioware series? Henry knows what he is doing here, teasing the collective gaming community over what this could be.
Henry Cavill has already starred in a stellar video game adaption in Netflix's The Witcher series, so he knows quality when he sees it. Could this be another starring role for the actor? Does Henry Cavill as Commander Shepard make sense?
With more Mass Effect games on the horizon , now would be the perfect time to get the marketing machine going on a potential adaption.
