Since its launch last month, Cyberpunk 2077 has received a lot of negative attention for a variety of reasons. The poor quality of the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game caused Sony to completely remove the game from its digital store and Microsoft to expand its refund policy .

Behind the scenes, the development process for the game at CD Projekt Red proved incredibly problematic. Crunch, unrealistic deadlines, and poor business decisions plagued the studio, and the game clearly suffered because of it.

In a recent video, CD Projekt Red Co-Founder Marcin Iwiński apologized for the rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077 . A road map detailing more patches and a full next-gen version was also revealed.

NEWS

Cyberpunk 2077 is now listed as 50 percent off its original price of $60 on Amazon . Physical copies of the game on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One now cost $30.

When it launched in December, Cyberpunk 2077 was heavily criticized for releasing in a largely broken state on base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. There have been some updates to the game, but those versions of Cyberpunk are still riddled with distracting bugs and huge frame rate issues.

Though the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game are still largely buggy, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X backwards compatible versions run markedly better. The physical PlayStation 4 and Xbox One copies of Cyberpunk 2077 will work on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, so this is a way for next-gen console owners to play a better version of the game on advanced hardware.

WHAT THIS MEANS

As of now, this 50% off price point is likely the best deal for those who wanted to buy Cyberpunk 2077 at launch but were deterred because of the terrible quality of the base console versions. This can also be somewhat of a smart investment for players who eventually want to play the full next-gen version of the game. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get a free next-gen upgrade of the game later this year, so paying $30 now will ensure that they receive a likely smoother experience down the line.

Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on disc is the only way new buyers can experience the game on PlayStation consoles. PlayStation removed the game from its digital store last month , so retail copies of the game are the only way to obtain the game. For PlayStation 5 owners, this deal might be the best way to play the game with fewer bugs and graphical hiccups.
