PS5 consoles have been hard to secure this console generation. From scalpers, to bots, getting a preorder for a Playstation console has never been this difficult.

Tips For Preordering a PS5
The biggest advice we can give is to stay alert on social media. Social media accounts such as @PS5TheDirect, @Wario64 and @IGNDeals are great Twitter accounts to follow to get accurate and quick alerts for whenever a PS5 goes live. We will be updating this page whenever we hear about any upcoming preorder opportunities as well, so bookmarking and checking back on this page often is a great idea.
The stock of Playstation 5 Digital Editions will be significantly less then the stock for the standard Playstation 5. If price is not an issue for you, I would recommend trying to preorder the standard PS5 because it will have more stock available during any preorder wave.
Every online retailer will do their preorder process online differently, so be aware of what to do on the store page when you get there. For example, Playstation's official online store, Playstation Direct, will put you in a queue to wait until its your turn to get your console, so refreshing is not advised. Walmart's Add to Cart button will flicker in and out as the store loads, so refreshing the page is advised. So be alert, refreshing the page might lose your spot in the queue depending on which online retailer you are using.
Finally, having a PS5 in your cart on some online outlets does not secure your preorder. If you have a PS5 in your cart and an online outlet runs our of stock, you will lose your chance to preorder a PS5. For this reason, I highly recommend creating an account with your purchase and shipping information prefilled out. This will make the checkout process as quick as possible for you.

Walmart - November 25th, 9PM EST
Walmart's store page for both the PS5 Disk version and PS5 Digital Edition is stating that more PS5 units will be availble to preorder on November 25th at 9PM EST. In order to best secure your preorder, make sure you follow the tips that we have listed above (Create a Walmart account with purchase information already filled out and I would recommend going for the standard PS5 disk version).

Gamestop - November 27th, 7AM EST
It is being reported that Gamestop will have PS5 units available on Black Friday (November 27th) at 7 AM EST. It is currently unclear whether just the disk version of the PS5 will be available, or if the digital version will be available as well. Gamestop often sells their consoles in bundles, so your best bet for securing a console on Black Friday is to buy one of their bundles.

While they may not be in stock right now, here is a list with links to some of the largest online outlets selling PlayStation 5 consoles and accessories. Periodically checking these links (along with their social media accounts) is a great way to stay informed on when PS5 preorders will next come in stock. Reminder, there are less PS5 Digital Editions then there are standard PS5s, so you will have a greater chance snagging a preorder if you look at the normal Playstation 5 console.
