The Hitman series has always been known for its incredible sense of replayability. Each map is designed in a way to ensure that your end goal can be achieved with multiple different strategies in mind, leaving control in the hands of the player. This sense of freedom in the game has allowed the franchise to become one of the most popular gaming series of all time.
Announced in June 2020, Hitman 3 promised to bring the epic chapter to an end, concluding the story with an epic, next-generation experience. Players have been eager to learn more about what is in store for Agent 47, and a new launch trailer for the game has given us insight into what we can expect.

WHAT THIS MEANS
Hitman 3 promises to wrap the franchise up in a way that only Agent 47 is worthy of. The “World of Assassination” series has brought a breath of fresh air to the series, harnessing the power of last-generation consoles to give the stealthy assassin more ways to complete his contracts. Given that the final installment is set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, players can expect a huge upgrade on what was capable in Hitman 2.
A cinematic gameplay trailer from last year gave us a glimpse into the map of Dubai and showed us the main character climbing the Burj Khalifa, as well as winding his way through a number of civilians with his iconic silenced pistol in hand. The launch trailer has revealed a number of new locations, including a country mansion type setting, as well as a busy nightclub.
It's also been confirmed that players' progress from Hitman 2 will continue over to Hitman 3, and vice versa, allowing players to mix and match their unlocks across multiple maps. IO Interactive has consistently killed the game when it comes to keeping players playing their games, and this newest addition brings a whole new meaning to the franchise, allowing payers to complete classic levels in brand new ways.
The launch trailer may not give much to go off in terms of story possibilities, but one thing is for certain: Agent 47 is set up for one last wild ride in the world of Hitman.
Hitman 3 releases on January 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, and PC.
