Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was released on November 13 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series of consoles.

The game serves as somewhat of a reboot for the Black Ops franchise, as it is a direct sequel to the first Black Ops game that released in 2010.

The intended release date for Season One of the multiplayer mode was recently delayed from December 10 to December 16 .

WHAT THIS MEANS

This trailer is consistent in how Call of Duty has recently released seasonal content for its previous entries. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare featured similar trailers ahead of its seasons, focusing on a story that ties the seasons together. It's likely that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will continue this trend by releasing trailers for each of its planned seasons.

Another noteworthy aspect of this season is its inclusion of Warzone , the stand-alone battle royale game for Call of Duty . This mode was integrally tied with Modern Warfare , but it will continue to be updated as a platform alongside Black Ops Cold War . With its inclusion in this trailer, Warzone will undoubtedly continue to update as a separate, but linked experience in the Call of Duty universe. Given its success, Warzone will presumably serve as the mainstay platform for free-to-play Call of Duty content going forward.
