While Marvel Studios expands the MCU both in theaters and on Disney+, fans also have a whole new library of material to enjoy on Disney+ thanks to six shows from Netflix moving to a new home. Starting off with Charlie Cox's Daredevil and ending with Jon Bernthal's The Punisher, these shows make one of Marvel's darker and more adult narratives available to stream in the same place as Marvel Studios' adventures.

Even though the transition has come with some minor technical issues, having the Netflix shows on Disney+ has been cause for celebration as fans look forward to a future where their heroes are part of the larger story. Stars from all six series have taken part in advertising to promote their venture to Disney+, sharing their excitement at seeing their work continue to make an impact on the fan base.

Although most fans across the world have the opportunity to enjoy entires the Netflix shows, there are a few occasions where some projects take longer to premiere on Disney+ in some parts of the world.

That's now the case with the new Marvel arrivals as a recent reports details where fans will have to wait to see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the rest of the Defenders saga.

International Delay to Marvel Netflix Shows

Disney, via streaming insider Helison Medeiros and Murphy's Multiverse, has shared a press release confirming that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher will become available on Disney+ in the Netherlands on Wednesday, June 29. This will be over three months delayed from the March 16 debut of these Marvel Netflix series on the Disney streamer in the U.S. and other regions.

Medeiros notes that this release date will likely be the same on Disney+ in other regions throughout Europe that don't yet have these Defenders shows.

Unknown Reason for Delayed Netflix Shows Debut

This is certainly a disappointing bit of news for Dutch Marvel fans, and unfortunately, it's not the first sign of delays for this programming in other parts of the world.

The listing for Disney+ Spain from March didn't include any of the Marvel Netflix series, meaning viewers there aren't able to watch the shows along with fans across the rest of the globe. Even though these international countries will likely get the Defenders series on Disney+ at some point in the future, it's a frustrating development nonetheless.

Navigating the rights to different streaming properties and where they can air is a difficult endeavor in and of itself, especially with so many different streaming platforms now making a name for themselves. Hopefully, the behind-the-scenes issues will resolve themselves in due time so that viewers in all parts of the world can partake in this historic move for the Marvel properties.

The Marvel Netflix shows are now streaming on Disney+ in most parts of the world.
