While WandaVision continues to draw in audiences to the MCU's first Disney+ spin-off series, Marvel Studios is already building anticipation towards its next Disney+ project -- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .
A six-episode show set after the events of Avengers: Endgame , this series will follow Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes embarking on a global adventure to stop a mysterious evil conspiracy . Other notable MCU characters will be making appearances as well, including Sharon Carter , Baron Zemo , and even James Rhodes .
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier released an official trailer on Disney Investor Day , and last weekend's Super Bowl brought another action-packed teaser full of exciting reveals and character moments. And based on how many people watched the most recent trailer, it seems the anticipation for the series could not be any higher.
THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER TRAILER SMASHES STREAMING RECORDS
According to a report from Deadline , The Falcon and the Winter Solider 's Super Bowl trailer received 125 million views in the first twenty-four hours after it premiered online. This number beats the record for a streaming service series' trailer views in 24 hours, which was previously held by WandaVision 's trailer, which was 53 million views.
The Falcon and the Winter Solider 's Super Bowl spot also beat last year's Black Widow game trailer, which saw 119 million views in the first 24 hours after its release.
FANS CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MORE FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER
The numbers that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 's trailer was able to pull in were huge, nearly doubling WandaVision 's previous record. Its view count even beat that of a theatrical release Marvel Studios film, which can only mean one thing: anticipation for this series is reaching an all-time high.
There's no doubt that WandaVision 's reception could be helping fans grow more excited for the studio's next Disney+ project, especially given that the Scarlet Witch's spin-off has been bringing some game-changing twists . With Marvel Studios proving that their streaming content will still have the same quality as their films, all eyes are now set on Disney+'s next entry in the MCU.
It's been over a year since audiences last saw popular characters like Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson. Given their extremely close connection to Captain America, the duo's new show will provide many much-needed answers to all the questions surrounding the future of the First Avenger's legacy .
It's apparent that fans cannot wait for this upcoming spin-off, and even though The Falcon and the Winter Solider 's plot still remains largely guarded, the series will undoubtedly provide an adventure unlike anything the MCU has ever seen.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
