WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Marvel Studios is in the process of breaking the internet thanks to the second trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which debuted during Super Bowl LVI. Piggybacking off the stories laid out in WandaVision, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and more, this sequel is looking to become arguably one of the biggest solo superhero movies of all-time.

While most of the action in the trailer centered on Benedict Cumberbatch's leading hero, along with magic and teases for massive cameos, Elizabeth Olsen made her mark in this new footage as well.

Long before Phase 4 began, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige teased just how interwoven the new slate's upcoming movies and TV shows would be as the MCU started its venture into streaming on Disney+. WandaVision started this off by continuing Wanda and Vision's story from the end of the Infintiy Saga, which culminated in Wanda realizing her true potential as the Scarlet Witch.

Once Wanda was confirmed to be in the Doctor Strange sequel, fans became even more anxious to see just how closely the two projects would tie into one another. The first trailer for Doctor Strange 2 kicked that off with a direct mention of Westview, NJ by name, but this second teaser took it to a whole new level of crazy.

WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2 Join Together

The second full trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teased the inclusion of a location from Marvel Studios' WandaVision, which began streaming on Disney+ in January 2021.

Two versions of Elizabeth Olsen's heroine are seen at the base of the stairs of a modern house. Eagle-eyed fans can even see two scooters in between the two characters, which comes as a nod to Wanda's twin sons, Billy and Tommy:

The version of Wanda on her knees is wearing her new Scarlet Witch costume that she formed in Episode 9 of WandaVision. There also appears to be some blackened spots on the outfit, possibly indicating her path toward using more dark magic that she found in the Darkhold:

The Wanda that's standing on her feet is only wearing a dark red sweater, but she's also sporting cuts and injuries on her face. She looks down on her other variant seemingly with disappointment and anger, although the reasoning is unclear:

Below is a look at the final version of Wanda's Westview home before she takes down the Hex she built for herself and Vision. The layout of the house in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, including the positioning of the stairwell, the window seat, and the side door, appears to be nearly identical:

This scene comes in at the 1:49 mark of the trailer, which can be seen below:

Marvel Studios' ambitions are higher than ever in regards to storytelling as Phase 4 expands to bigger and better things. This new trailer only solidifies how big the MCU is trying to be with Wanda Maximoff's home in Westview making a full appearance in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer.

WandaVision ended with the Scarlet Witch out in the middle of nowhere learning about Chaos Magic in the Darkhold, which was right before she heard Billy and Tommy's voices in her head. Another part of the trailer featured Wanda mentioning Vision specifically when discussing the Multiverse, although they were never seen discussing it in or prior to WandaVision.

While it's unknown if the twins or Vision will fully appear in the film, the chances of that happening shot up exponentially with the Maximoff family home fully appearing in this trailer.

As for the shot itself, the house appears to be in ruins, which could indicate that Wanda and her variant are in for a hellacious fight - with the New Jersey home as the battlefield. What leads them to the old house is unclear, and it's a mystery how much time the house will get on screen, but the fact that it shows up in this new footage indicates that WandaVision will make its presence felt in this movie.

With plenty of mystery still surrounding this sequel, the Westview addition will only add that much more excitement to Wanda's continuing MCU journey.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to release in theaters on May 6, 2022. All nine episodes of WandaVision are available to stream on Disney+.
